REVIEWS FROM PARENTS & STUDENTS

“Before working with Elizabeth, I had no idea how or where to even start applying to colleges. She knew exactly what she was doing and kept me on a clear schedule with specific tasks and deadlines, which made everything so much easier. The whole process can be super confusing, but she made it stress free for me and my parents.”

“We loved working with Elizabeth so much that we booked her thrice! All three of my daughters are different in needs, goals, and temperament, but Elizabeth found a way to connect with each of them on an individual level.

I was continually amazed by the patience Elizabeth brought to my procrastinator, the encouragement and challenge she brought to my less-secure teen, and the fun framing she offered my goofiest (who really needs to find the fun!). As clients, we value Elizabeth’s deep (and constantly renewed) knowledge of the college landscape, her advice and guidance about choices, and her strategic (co)direction/collaboration around the process as a whole. And of course there is just the simple fact that Elizabeth makes this process so much easier and more successful for us and our children.

I’ve told so many of my friends about Elizabeth’s services, even when they’ve claimed their (private) schools offer the same level of care, because Elizabeth not only offers a much deeper level of knowledge–those college counselors are great, but they aren’t visiting schools around the country, liaising with other professionals in the field, and constantly growing their range of information–but she takes the conflict out of the parent-teen relationship.

When Elizabeth says a certain set of tasks need to be completed by a certain date, not only do I not have to worry about reminding my kids, but they also don’t direct their existential despair in my direction. Viola! Relationship saved.

Lastly, as a college writing teacher who helps students with essays for a living, I initially thought we didn’t really need a consultant to help us with the writing piece, but after watching the kind of feedback Elizabeth offered, I realized I was wrong. Elizabeth is amazing at feedback in general, but she also understands how to leverage those essays for the maximum impact on each students’ application.

Overall, Elizbeth is a delight to work with and makes what can be a stressful and high-stakes time feel much more manageable.”

“Elizabeth is both exceptionally knowledgeable and genuinely caring. Rather than pushing me to fit a generic or idealized mold, she encouraged me to portray my authenticity and passions, guiding me to lead with what made me unique as an applicant. Elizabeth helped me identify and showcase my strengths, crafting an application that I am still proud of.

With her guidance, I applied to Case Western Reserve University – something I may not have pursued without her support – and I’m now working toward my dream major at a school that I love. Before working with Elizabeth, I had never heard of Case Western, and my college list would have been far less diverse without her input.

Unlike the formulaic advice many high school students receive, Elizabeth’s approach emphasizes passion and authenticity – qualities that resonate with admissions committees more than just a high GPA or a list of accomplishments. I was accepted into several schools where, based on numbers alone, I might not have expected to be comp.”

“My son is a freshman in college and absolutely loves his school. The college application process is quite daunting, so I appreciate that Elizabeth was able to support him to make the process as smooth and painless as possible. It was hard for our son to hear questions from my husband and I about his college applications without feeling something akin to “Mom and Dad treat me like I’m twelve.” If Elizabeth asked the same questions, we could tell he felt there was no judgment, just a desire to hear and to help him.

He really liked working with Elizabeth; she always arrived upbeat and full of enthusiasm. She listened to what was important to him in choosing prospective schools, and I believe he took it as a sign of respect that she worked directly with him on everything from making appointments and setting goals and deadlines to sitting down with him to go over his applications one last time prior to submission.

As a parent, it is hard not to worry about college applications and whether one’s child will find a good fit. I am grateful that Elizabeth’s knowledge, enthusiasm, and down to earth approach made my family’s life a lot easier and was instrumental in my son’s success in being accepted to the college of his choice.”

“Elizabeth’s help and coaching was invaluable to our son’s college application process. First she took the time to really get to know his capabilities, interests and goals, did extensive research to find universities that are a great fit for him then helped us narrow the list. She is always prompt and well prepared for their sessions, yet flexible and patient with us as things arise.

Elizabeth has done an amazing job helping our son stay on top of not just essays and tests, but complex music portfolio requirements for the various colleges he is applying to, mentoring and motivating him to do his best work. Our son trusts and likes working with her. We recommend her wholeheartedly. Don’t know what we would have done without her help.”

“Elizabeth was so helpful and I couldn’t have navigated the college application process without her. As the oldest child, neither me nor my parents knew what we were doing, and Elizabeth helped lower our stress and aided our success. It was also monumental to have everything done early and in an organized fashion, instead of rushed at the last minute. I recommend her highly!”

“Elizabeth made the daunting college application process feel more manageable for my daughter. Through every step, from building her college list to making the final decision, she was a trusted and thoughtful advisor offering deep expertise, a steady nature (with an essential sense of humor!), and a focus on finding the best fit. We are grateful.”

“My husband and I would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making the college application process as uneventful as imaginable for our family. As you know, our daughter accepted Boulder and she is super excited. We didn’t know anything about the application process and timelines, and working with you prevented a lot of potential friction for our family. Thanks again and we will reach out in a couple years when it is time for our son’s college run.”

“Elizabeth is an amazing college advisor. She worked with both of our children to get them into excellent schools.

She has a great knowledge of the many different types of schools across the country and helps her students find the right fit; someplace that they can find people like themselves, and also where they can be academically challenged and successful.

She is excellent about keeping her students on schedule so that the process does not seem overwhelming.

I highly recommend her to the people that I know with children interested in applying to four year universities.”

“Elizabeth has helped me conquer the college application process with relative ease; showing me how to organize my application “to do” list and assisting me in creating application profiles that make a strong case for myself while letting my personality show through.”

“Elizabeth has been an invaluable support in my college application process. I truly couldn’t have done it without her. From suggesting colleges for me to research and add to my list to assigning me deadlines to stay on track to giving me in-depth answers to all of my questions, she has been an incredible mentor and collaborator. I’m so lucky to have had her by my side throughout this journey.”

“When I heard about how stressful it was for some of my friends to help their kids get through the college application process, I started to worry that the whole process was going to put our entire family into a really unhappy place. So, I hired Elizabeth, not so much for my very organized child, but for me.

Now I don’t have to be the one nagging about deadlines, essays, recommendation letters, and the other minutia involved in the process. Elizabeth is keeping my daughter on track and as stress free as possible and I get to be a sounding board for my daughter!”
